This session was dedicated to the impact of anxiety on children and adolescents with gastrointestinal problems. Participants were introduced to scientific studies that indicate a connection between irritable bowel syndrome and anxiety or depressive disorders, and also learned about methods of helping children suffering from these diseases. Special attention was paid to the impact of emotions, such as stress, on the occurrence of spasms and pain in the intestines.
