🔹 We successfully held an ECHO session on adolescent depression 🔹
Adolescence is a time of great change, exploration, and high vulnerability to stress. Depression at this age can not only affect emotional state, but also significantly increase the risks of self-harm. Traditional methods, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and medication, are effective, but sometimes do not take into account the complexities of age. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can be an innovative and useful approach to help adolescents develop psychological flexibility.
📌 In this meeting, we examined the case of a 15-year-old girl who is experiencing a crisis and forcing others to be flexible with her behavior. Together with psychologist @Irina Metelskaya, we discussed important issues:
✔️ How to recognize depression in adolescents
✔️ How to provide effective psychological support
✔️ What innovative approaches can be useful to support the psychological well-being of an adolescent
The event was useful for psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, behavioral therapists and everyone interested in supporting adolescents.
